P's First Day of Kindergarten

August 15th came too quickly. We arrived back from Vacation on Saturday the 13th and scrambled around to get Preston ready for kindergarten. Sunday night I began to think about how fast the years have gone by with Preston. He was my tiny, beautiful first born 5 years ago. These past 5  years have been such a blessing and life changing. Now my life and Preston's life were about to change, he was starting his first year of school. He will be stepping into the halls of a school for the next 20 or so years...So much more will be expected of him, his toddler years are officially OVER!!! So of course like any mother I am trying to get everything perfect for the first day and washing and drying and laying out his clothes. I thought I would be so emotional..But it was so hectic on the first morning of school, I didn't really have time to be emotional.

Our alarm goes off at 6:30..and 6:40..6:45.. and oh no! It's 7:00!! We need to leave in 30 minutes. So Alan and I jump out of bed and race around the house to get both boys ready for school. We leave and arrive in the parking lot at about 8:00..It was crazy.. no where to park.. all kinds of stuff we needed to buy.. had to talk to the lunch lady, meet the teacher, etc. Craziness. So therefore, no time to be emotional.  Preston sat down at his table with four other classmates and immediately transforms into this little gentleman, using all of his manners. He also impressed his dad as he colored inside all of the lines! What a charmer he is!

It was also Jackson's first day at his new childcare center. He is at Second Presbyterian. He loves it. He is so happy when he comes home!! I love it so far!!
Here are some pictures of Preston's first day of school:

He had to wear the shades..

Being Preston
This was so cute..She sent this home with him on his first day. I think I am going to like her:)

So close..yet so far!

I am expecting my second child, Jackson Spencer, who is due October 29th! That leaves 10 weeks of pregnancy but I'm going..No way will i carry this child until the 29th, ha Im thinking more like the middle of October!! We are so excited about his arrival and Preston, my son, who is 4 and a half, cannot wait for his "baby" to be here. On top of a new baby coming soon, we have so many things to be excited about, with lots of big but great changes! Preston started his first day of Pre-k 4 yesterday at Pulaski Academy. He seemed to love it, and said he likes his teachers. He sat my Mrs. Engskov at lunch he said. On top of standing on my feet all day, I've been running around like crazy trying to get everything ready and perfect for my baby's first day of BIG BOY SCHOOL!! Not only that but we have has to completely change not only Preston's schedule, but our own. It's tough getting up at 6:00 a.m. I look at it as a good way to prepare for baby!! I will continue with this post in a little bit.. I have to go get in the carpool line to pick Preston up!!
